What makes this 1967 Shelby GT500 CR special is that it isn’t simply a restored ’67 Mustang or another high-end restomod. It’s one of just 25 GT500CR Carbon Editions produced worldwide by Classic Recreations under Shelby license, registered in the Shelby Unified Registry and carrying its own Shelby production number.
The centerpiece is the full exposed-weave carbon-fiber body, produced by SpeedKore using autoclave-cured prepreg carbon. The carbon isn’t there just for appearance—it removes roughly 600 pounds compared with the steel-bodied car, giving the GT500CR a dramatically different power-to-weight ratio while preserving the iconic 1967 Shelby shape.
Underneath it is equally serious: a Whipple-supercharged 5.0L Coyote producing 810 hp, Tremec six-speed manual, adjustable coilover suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood brakes and a 9-inch rear end.
