For collectors, families, and the advisors beside them — clear answers to what people most want to understand before reaching out.
Before we begin.Every answer below is given from the perspective of an advisor whose responsibility is solely to the collector, not to inventory, an auction, or a sales platform.
We answer to one person in any transaction: the client who engaged us. Motori holds no inventory and runs no auction, so there is never a car we need to move or a sale room we need to fill. That structure is the whole point — our recommendation follows your objective, not ours. When the right answer is to wait, or to walk away, we will tell you so.
Only ever yours. We act for one side of a transaction — the side that has engaged us — and never both. Your objectives set the direction, and our advice is never divided between competing interests. You will always know exactly whom we represent.
We start with what you are trying to achieve, then let evidence and experience shape the path — a public sale, a private one, patience, or passing altogether. Because no outcome pays us more than another, the recommendation is simply the one we believe serves you best.
Many collectors could buy or sell a car on their own. They engage Motori because important decisions benefit from experienced judgment, a trusted network, and one person accountable from the first conversation to the last detail. We save you time, remove complexity, and put better information behind every decision.
None. We would far rather you make the right decision than a quick one. If the timing isn’t right, or a sale isn’t in your interest, we will say so plainly — even when that means no engagement for us. Nothing about how we work depends on rushing you.
That is a good place to begin. Many of our relationships start with a single question rather than a decision. You are welcome to seek our perspective now and act on it whenever — or if ever — the time is right. A conversation is not expected to lead anywhere in particular.
Completely, and by default rather than by request. Every conversation and every engagement is held in confidence — identities, holdings, and details are never disclosed without your written consent. When a sale is best kept quiet, it happens off-market entirely: no public listing, and no price history left behind.
Gladly — it is how much of our work is done. Motori works with family offices, attorneys, accountants, insurance brokers, and private banks, as the automotive specialist within a circle of advisors you already trust. We complement the people who serve you rather than stand in for them.
Transparently, and always agreed in writing before any work begins. A sale is a simple two-part fee: an engagement fee to begin the work — valuation, preparation, presentation, and strategy — and a success fee earned only when the car sells. There are no hidden costs, and because the success fee depends on the result, our interest stays aligned with yours. Other engagements are scoped to the work involved and priced the same way: agreed up front, with no surprises.
A person, not a department. You will deal directly with Steve Gregg and a small, senior team — the same people from the first conversation through to the last detail. Nothing is handed to a call center, and you will always know who is accountable for your engagement.
Cars that matter to the people who own them — historically important classics, modern collector cars, performance cars, and complete collections alike. If you are unsure whether yours is a fit, simply ask. We would rather tell you honestly than accept an engagement we cannot serve well.
Yes — and you do not need to understand the cars to begin. We often step in for families and executors, starting with a clear, unhurried inventory and valuation, then laying out the options plainly. Nothing has to be decided at once. We move at the pace the family and the estate require, and coordinate with the attorneys and accountants already involved.
Rarely. Our work is national and increasingly international, and we coordinate transport, storage, and inspection wherever your cars reside. We meet by appointment and travel as the work requires, so where you or your collection sit is seldom an obstacle.
Reach out and you will hear back within one business day — from Steve or a member of the team, never a call center. We take time to understand your situation and suggest a sensible path forward.
The first conversation is complimentary, confidential, and commits you to nothing. If the moment isn’t right, it costs you nothing to have asked.
Independent representation for significant collector cars.
